Requiring the attention of a gynaecologist or being unsure about whether or not you should be seeing one can sometimes be concerning or just plain confusing. Surya Fertility Associates understands this. Gynaecology is an important and positive part of being a healthy woman and we’re here to help you with that.
We know what you expect and need from your gynaecologist. We’re all individuals with different needs and that requires attention from caring, experienced, committed and sensitive professionals in a private and comfortable environment. SFA offers help in every step of your gynaecological treatment. This includes but isn’t limited to regulating menstrual cycles, urogynecology, diagnostic pap smears, gynecologic oncology, menopause and others.
Any gynaecological problem may be managed in several ways. The best treatment for you may be medical or surgical and we offer advice for all of these approaches. Our specialists will discuss your concerns and what you want from your care. You may then choose the route of your preference. We offer tailored medical management for a range of gynaecological problems including endometriosis, fibroids, infertility and pelvic pain. The final treatment will depend on your clinical symptoms, signs and personal choices. Every decision will be based on the latest evidence for the treatment option available to ensure your complete safety.
Though most gynaecological issues are not life-threatening, they can be life-altering. Excessively heavy periods may decrease your iron levels and make you anaemic. Painful conditions like adenomyosis or pelvic floor myalgia may substantially impact your day-to-day activities or relationships. By the latter, we mean interference with contraception- if you aren’t looking to get pregnant at the moment. You may also go through certain screening tests to diagnose any condition based on your symptoms or get routinely examined for all conditions common to your age group, especially if you are over 35 years old.

Surgery is also sometimes required for treating certain gynaecological issues. We provide hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, vaginal and open abdominal surgeries to best deal with any problem that needs surgical intervention.
Laparoscopy also called ‘keyhole’ surgery, is a surgical approach where small incisions are used instead of a large incision to access the organs and perform your surgery. Nearly all surgeries can be done this way, but it may not be the optimal approach for every condition. It will eventually depend on your specific circumstances, concerns and the risks associated with your case.
Hysteroscopy is a routine procedure during which the inside of the uterus (womb) is examined using a thin narrow tube- a hysteroscope. Usually 2-5mm in diameter, the hysteroscope is carefully passed through the vagina, and the cervix (neck of the womb) to help the doctor see into the uterus via the hysteroscope telescope. This lets them assess the inside of the uterus and the opening of the Fallopian tubes. The diagnostic procedure can find polyps, adhesions and fibroids which can be removed at the same time through operative hysterectomy.
